| Description: | I’ve been working on a small utility for my own Ableton workflow and figured it might be useful to others too. It’s called AWS – Input Transformer — basically a lightweight input-stage saturator that gives each track a bit of analog-style character before it hits the rest of your chain. It’s not pretending to be a full channel strip or a complicated color box. It just gives you the option to choose between two input flavours (a smoother, vintage-leaning one and a tighter, modern one) and drive them as much or as little as you want. I built it because Ableton’s default gain staging feels very “flat,” and I like having a subtle tone shaper right at the start of every track so things glue together faster. The interface is simple on purpose — clean layout, custom skin, and a design that stands out from the grey stock devices so it’s easy to find when the session gets busy. Drop it at the top of a channel and you get a predictable, musical bit of color without having to think too hard about it. If that sounds useful, it’s available on Gumroad. I’m planning to release more of these small, workflow-first M4L tools with custom UIs, so if you’ve got ideas or requests, feel free to share. |
